Last week the events of the International Youth Forum, traditionally held by PJSC ROSSETI within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum official programme, have been launched in Moscow.
On 10-12 April 2017 39 best young specialists from ROSSETI took part in the kick-off module of the Integrated Program for the Group's youth talent pool members, and as a result twelve members joined the team participating in further stages of the Forum. The rest will continue to work remotely at the IYF web portal. The participants had an opportunity to immerse themselves into the topics of the Forum's projects, work on their own projects, gain teamwork skills and take a language course. All participants were awarded with certificates of completion of the Integrated Programme Introductory Module.
On 13-16 April 2017 an educational module of the programme and the first stage of IYF, featuring the Russian team together with young specialists from foreign energy companies of France, China and Germany, took place at the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO.
This year project work topics are designed to solve the most urgent and complex challenges energy companies are facing. For instance, the project of SGCC is devoted to increasing efficiency of the electric grid, taking into account the prospective growth of renewable energy sources capacity. Representatives from France explore innovative solutions for a power metering system, while the German team develops usage mechanisms for 'virtual power plant' technologies under conditions of distributed generation. The project of the Russian team is dedicated to the use of network power storage and technology of high-temperature superconductors.
The participants were particularly interested in the meeting with the management of the company, held on 14 April at the PJSC ROSSETI office, and the scientific and practical seminar with the participation of representatives from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute and the All-Russian Scientific, Design, Development and Research Institute of Technology for Cable Industry, where the teams' projects were discussed.
The expert panel consisting of PJSC ROSSETI management and leading scientists particularly specialised in project areas approved the teams' conclusions about the prospects of selected project themes and made a number of comments and suggestions to the teams.
Apart from intense and hard work the IYF participants were invited for a tour around Moscow. The Moscow stage culminated with the participants attending the Moscow Easter Festival opening ceremony that took place on 16 April 2017 at the Great Concert Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. In the remaining period until the final stage of the IYF scheduled to take place from 28 May to 2 June in St. Petersburg, the teams will have to work hard on the project with an intermodular wrap-up during their visit to China.
